Filipina performer Grace Oracion is one of the Mocha Girls, a Filipina vocal group you might remember from their lesbian makeout videos earlier this year. Grace herself is considered the most conservative of the bunch, but that doesn’t stop her from appearing on the cover of Playboy Philippines this August.
Aside from exuding the natural charm of a demure Filipina, Grace excels both physically and intellectually: as a powerful dancer for the Mocha Girls, and as an information technology graduate. Hooray for holistic Asian sirens.
“Mutya ng Pilipinas” is Filipino for “Muse of the Philippines”. As you can see from the opening dance number at the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2009 pageant, these Filipina muses sure can get jiggy with it.
This post about the Chinese ladies taking up pole dancing reminded me of another form of dance not rooted in the Far East, that’s become popular there.
Belly dancing was introduced in Korea in the mid-90s by Ahn Yoo-jin (39) shortly after she had begun studying it in New Zealand. Yoo-jin (also know by her English name of Xena) also founded the Belly Korea Academy in 1995, according to the site but I actually remember first reading about her in this article from the Korea Herald in 2001, in which the dates given don’t seem to jive.You-jin/Xena has appeared numerous times on Korean network television, is the only Korean belly dancer to hold a license from the Istanbul Total Dance Academy and has taught dance classes at several top universities in Korea.
Since a simple Google search of her name will turn up many results regarding her using a fake degree from a university in Australia, in order to land a job teaching dance at a prestigious women’s university in Korea; here you go….but that or any other article on the subject will just tell you pretty much the same thing that I already did. Anyway, so what if she did get caught passing off a phony diploma? It doesn’t mean that she’s not qualified to teach her art to others….she just took a little short cut in doing so.

Kaba Modern was started in 1992 by a group of Filipino dancers for a performance at a local Pilipino (Filipino) Culture Night and has since evolved into what it is today: “One of the most cutting-edge hip-hop troupes in California.” There’s not much to see on their webite, it’s actually more like Kaba Modern’s online mission statement.Although they did not win the competition these three were first in my heart!
Yuri Tag (Korean) is actually quite popular now, outside of Kaba Modern. She’s got a fansite dedicated to her in the works right now and I believe she has done some personal appearances as well.
Cindy Minowa (Japanese) is my favorite of the three. There is just something about her that gives me a little something-something, ya know? I know she’s got a great body and a killer smile… but that’s not all there is to it… interesting… haha!
Jia Huang (Chinese) seems like the shy type, maybe that’s why I can’t find much on her. I really like her eyes though.. very nice.
Here is Taeko Carroll (Japanese) from the group: Fysh N Chicks. My brother saw her and was done… haha! I found some nice ones of her… yay! I think she looks like a much hotter version of the actress who plays Velma in the Scooby Doo movies. Watch out for the last pic, it may cause a nose bleed!
