Since I’ve been writing my own articles here on Asian Sirens, I have been going through the archives to see who hasn’t been written about yet. It’s surprising that women that I figured would have been written about by now on Asian Sirens do not have an article, which is great for me because it gives me someone to write about. Tila Tequila has long reigned as the Queen of MySpace, so count on her to make a splash on the next hot social network: Twitter. She’s been encouraging her followers to put various hashtags onto Twitter’s trending topics.

After playing with the off-color hashtag #farts, which was immediately censored by Twitter, she seems to have learned the ropes of the Oprahfied social network. She’s now promoting the more direct, more worksafe hashtag #followtila. Her fans promptly propelled the hashtag to number five on Twitter’s toplist, beating the MJ memorial.

Say what you will about Tila and her fans; she adapts quickly. She’s rapidly learning how to work her online fame into the latest Web 2.0 sensation.

I’m certainly not the Lena fan I once was – I really dislike the way she’s coloured her once stunningly long and beautiful hair, her breasts look a lot better with clothes on than without (or with Playboy touch-ups to make them look more even), and the scar left behind by the naval ring she used to wear really puts me off. Still, I’m sure she’d have me salivating if I met her in person, and I could hardly let the news of her just launched personal web site go unannounced! She’s been promising it for six years now, so I think she may have missed her window of opportunity. On the other hand, she’s been very active with social networking (on MySpace, FaceBook and now Twitter!), so who knows?
