Editor’s note: This is a guest post by Candyman.

It has been a while since I wrote an article for Asian Sirens. Work and life has been keeping me busy, but mainly the reason has been because I did not have something to write about that was worth writing an article for, and also because I started a blog that I have been working on. A while back I found out about Moko.cc but didn’t check it out until just recently. Once I started to check it out and see the models that were showcased, it quickly became a site that I needed to write about.Moko is a hotbed for pictures of gorgeous models. It took me a moment to figure out how to navigate the site since I can’t read Chinese, but once I was able to figure it out I have been coming across one hottie after another who have been mind blowing for the most part. I still can’t pick a favorite model. If I had to pick one, right now it would by Wu Yi Man, but my favorite is anyone wearing the least amount of clothing or rocking a t-shirt that shows the underneath part of their breasts (neathage) and their midsection. So if you are into hot Asian models, give them a look.

We Heart It Photo Bookmarking

Asian Body Beautiful, from deviantART via WeHeartIt

As promised, I’m continuing my review of online photo bookmarking services with We Heart It (weheartit.com). It took me a while to write this because this site is not what I expected it to be. It’s not even a useful bookmarking site, but there are some nice pictures. When I wrote about 4U Beauty Image Bookmarking (here) DrNo said that it was really “photo stealing.” Weheartit has the same problem. You bookmark an image using a javascript “bookmarklet” that captures the image and the page it was found on. There is no opportunity to edit the URL in order to provide a useful bookmark. Thus, Weheartit is most definitely not a place to find new models, photographers or even the source of interesting photos. For that, vi.sualize.us is clearly the best choice. Most of the “bookmarks” here are to sites like tumbler (I noticed that the official WeHeartIt blog is hosted at tumblr, weheartit.tumblr.com, so there may be some even deeper connection).

But if you just want to look at pictures of asian sirens (or fashion models, or typography, or flowers), it’s great. Every time you click on an image you are offered a choice of similar images. Similar images are apparently identified based on tags, so tagging is important.

WeHeartIt screenshots

This set of images is basically what you get by searching for photos related to the tags asian, girl and breasts. Unfortunately, you can’t just directly search for multiple terms, so the only way to see these sets of related photos is to use related photos as your query. That drawback is typical of the amateur feel to this site. This is most definitely not Google, but they do have tens of thousands of users, and they seem to be very sincere about making it all work better.

In conclusion, WeHeartIt is a lot less useful than vi.sualize.us, but it does have a lot more photos of asian sirens to look at.

vi.sualize.us: quality photo bookmarking but few sirens

Ai Takeuchi on vi.sualize.us

I’m continuing my review of online photo bookmarking services with vi.sualize.us. This is a great site, with all of the features you would want, but few asian sirens (yet).A few weeks back I reviewed 4U beauty image bookmarking (here). I complained about the lack of features and the lack of credit given to original sources.

vi.sualize.us does very much better on both of those counts. When posting, separate URLs are recorded for the image and for the page on which it was found, and these can be edited separately. This is important, because one often wants to bookmark a gallery of thumbs, which is not the page on which the image was found. As with other bookmarking sites, it’s possible to either post an image yourself or just “like” an image posted by someone else. vi.sualize.us goes a bit further by (somehow) recognizing and consolidating separate posts to the same image, even if they point to different sites. There are snapshots of related photos adjacent to each picture, and this works pretty well, as this screen shot shows (by the way, Ayumi Kinoshita was featured here):

These are all nice features, and I will be using vi.sualize.us to bookmark photos, much as I have used delicious for a few years now. I’m not sure if these sites are related. It’s interesting that delicious gave up the fancy del.icio.us for delicious.com.

One drawback of vi.sualize.us is that it sometimes can be slow, which is understandable for a photo site but can be frustrating. Another drawback is that there are relatively few bookmarks to asian sirens. Of course, that depends on who is bookmarking, so I introduced the tag asian-siren for us all to use. Let’s see how that works.

Beauty Image Bookmarking 4U

Mai Nadasaka on 4U beauty image bookmarking

Photo bookmarking seems to be the hot new thing, and 4U – beauty image bookmarking (4u.straightline.jp) may be just the site for regular visitors to Asian Sirens. There are a lot of photo bookmarking sites popping up. Examples are vi.sualize.us, FFFFOUND!, We heart it and typeish. Following my resolution to post weekly in 2009 I’m going to start by reviewing these sites from the asian sirens perspective. “4U – beauty image bookmarking” (4u.straightline.jp) is a Japanese site well suited to Asian Sirens, so that’s where I’m starting. It is also the only one of these photo bookmarking sites to be featured on Asian Sirens already (here).

Like other bookmarking sites, photos are tagged and presented without much annotation. To bookmark a photo you must first apply to become a power user (I did; it involves an email request), but anyone can develop a set of preferences. Each photo is marked with a button that says “I love her.”

image

Clicking that button is a vote, and each photo prominently displays how many votes it has received. For example, I posted this picture of Mai Nadasaka on Dec. 29 and it has received 31 votes (“31 people fell in love”).

image

If you click “Mai Nadasaka” you go to the bookmarked page (Asian Sirens, May 10, 2008). If you click “31 people fell in love” you will see a list of those 31 people, and you can click their names to see what else they love. You also see other pictures of Mai Nadasaka, pictures that are related, and a sampling of pictures bookmarked by some of the fans.

It’s easy to spend a lot of time clicking from photo to photo.

The major drawback of 4U is that many of these “bookmarks” are to sites like flickr or tumblr (or even Google reader) where photos have been reposted with little information (or where photos are no longer found). The problem is exacerbated by the inflexible bookmarking method, which captures the URL, page title, and image but allows no editing. Thus, even if I want to provide more information to my bookmark I can’t. To be honest, there was a set of instructions in Japanese that I did not understand, so there may be ways to edit bookmarks that I don’t know about. However, it’s certainly true that most bookmarks are not to sites with more information, or even to sites with more photos of the same girl. For that you’ll want to stick with Asian Sirens. In fact, since Asian Sirens usually has an informative title (the model’s name) on the same page as photos of high quality, most of my 4U bookmarks are back to here.

Next week, I’ll review another photo bookmarking site. In the meantime, enjoy 4U.

A New Store, DVD and a Kiss from Me for Christmas!

This is just a quick post to let everyone know that we’ve launched a brand new online store, where we have put my Exercise and Yoga DVD on sale! And as you can see above, we have also put together a promo video for it (higher quality versions are available at the store). And not only that, but we’ve just launched a win a kiss from me for Christmas competition as well! See this post at my blog for more information.

Yumi Lee

Yumi Lee

Yumi Lee (Korean) wanted to let you know that she just finished a new launch of YumiLee.com. The new site features all new photos, HD videos, webcam videos, candids and more from her. Some of you may remember her as a former Playboy Cybergirl (Nov 2004) and also a Perfect10 model. She also did bikini calendars and magazines as well. I think it’s strange we never featured her before!

Since I have no time to review her site myself, I may as well ask you guys to leave some feedback here. (You always have something to say anyway! ;-))
