The journey of the sacred flame (by FHM)

Translation verbatim from Danwei.org:
The Chinese edition of FHM magazine is four years old this month, and to celebrate, they have published a 32 page special and outsize pullout poster, titled ‘Olympic epic photo spread – the journey of the sacred flame’. The magazine features four models engaged in combat and sport, with art direction that appears to be inspired by Zhang Yimou historical films. One of the models is Dai Feifei, who has a blog. She has posted several of the photos to her blog, and written a short post about the photo shoot, translated below.

I was invited to participate in the FHM May issue cover feature which is being published now. Because it’s the fourth anniversary of the launch of the magazine, they had really strict requirements for the quality of the content, especially the cover feature.

We used three whole days to shoot it starting really early every morning and shooting until we were exhausted late at night. Of course such hard work and effort has resulted in this epic set photos with an Olympic theme: The journey of the sacred flame.

I hope everyone sees these photos and feels affected by their spirit of bravery and combat and their power, then all the work will have been worthwhile.

  1. Looks like the same crew resposnsible for that soccer shoot and another more recent one that escapes me right now. Very Photoshopped, but they do an awesome job! And the models are really hot. 🙂

  2. Photo 12 is my fav…the rest ? Are they photos or generated or a bit of both with a (too) heavy hand on the cge.

Interesting nonetheless and I ain’t complaining.

  3. That’s the other article I was trying to think of! There seems to be a photography/computer graphics team in China that specialises in this stuff.

  4. One of the girls here seems to have a really slim yet very curvy body (her waistline reminds me of Jun Kusanagi). She’s the one with the red strap top (in front in the last pic, on the right in the third last pic, and with her back turned to the camera in the volleyball pic). Now she’s my kind of girl – awesome figure! Still, she might want to see the Doc about making her chest a little more like Jun’s as well. 😉

  5. The message from the photos are clear: to teach the Chinese girls to be sexy and daring!

  6. These women are amazing. Does anyone know the ethnicity of all these women? Are they all Chinese or Korean?

  7. Slim, curvy and flexible. What’s not to like? (Assuming they’re not guys of course, right Lawboy?)

  8. Let’s hope they’re not guys, I damn near had a heart attack with that other article!

  9. i may make an exception wings:) what’s a DL? is it anything like a camel toes you mentioned before?

  10. DL means “down low”, meaning secretive. On the QT basically means the same thing.

  11. Back to business guys, do you really like those girls? if you do, better we go to Beijing. If one of us is lucky, he will meet one or all of them.

  12. I’d better not go, one of those kicks might be meant for me. Sshhhhh… I’m a pervert… haha!
