Hong Kong: Magazine cleared of wet t-shirt child porn charges

image

Easy Finder magazine was acquitted yesterday of publishing child pornography when it ran pictures of a young pop singer in a wet T-shirt. Kwun Tong Magistrate Gary Lam Kar-yan conceded that one of the four pictures of Renee Lee Wan, published last June when she was 14, did suggest the outline and shape of her left breast and nipple. Full story here.In my opinion, this seems a little overboard to me. I saw the original pictures and only with a vivid imagination could the pictures be viewed as ‘pornography’. It does make you wonder about child pornography laws though. Not to mention the fact that her mother was willing to allow her 14 year-old daughter to pose in the suggestive “wet t-shirt” pics – and happily collect money for them – until the public outcry; then she too was misled and wronged.

  1. The Asian Sex Gazette article says: “The magistrate noted that he did not see anything sexual in the process of taking the pictures or that the person involved in the article had any sexual intention.”

Are you f****** kidding me? While not pornographic, it’s absolutely clear that the poses are meant to be sexually suggestive.

All of the adults involved–again, while not guilty of child pornography–should be taken to task over such deplorable, self-serving judgment, including perhaps being given a good whack upside their heads.

  2. Not porn at all, but clearly suggestive. I wonder what kind of parents allow something like this.

Some girls at 14 are already a bit naughty, but that’s normal between teens. Not normal for teens to tease grown men, thought. They sure all needed a good smack in the heads.

  3. just currious for those bro living oversea…what is the acceptable age for your area?….i think sixteen here..but we live pretty close to Arkansas:))

  4. thanks new…good infor…in some countries, 12 is ok? wow that can be kinda strange….good to know the consent age in thailand though ; )

  5. So, LawBoy, you give a wink/smile to the age of consent in Thailand being 15? I hope your joking, because otherwise I put that right up there with the extreme lack of judgement practiced by the adults involved this photoshoot.

Do you have sisters, nieces, and or any relationship to teenage girls based on family or community? If yes, imagine some grown man putting his cock in your 15-year old niece or your friend’s high school aged daughter or even the teenage girl who sells you smokes at the 7-Eleven.

Gives things a different perspective, doesn’t it?

Responsible adults don’t have sex with minors, no matter what the age of so-called consent.

  6. take a easy hero…get off your high horses…no body here condones pedophilia…..and i think your C word will get you a strike one…so take a easy fella.

  7. speaking of which…what would qualifies as “not a minor” ? more than 16 or 18…just curious

btw Hero…when i said that it is good to know the age of consent in thailand it is not for me to go find minors but in situation where there is a mistake and you dont want to go to prison in Thailand…in situation like that, you want to know the law on the books brother…

  8. Yes hero, please take it easy – you should know by now that LawBoy is almost never serious. πŸ˜‰ I’ll let your use of ‘cock’ go given that you have used it in an abstract context (instead of as an insult, for example). But once again, please keep it cool.

  9. Wooo… Glad to see that I stimulated some conversation! interestingly I plan on posting something relating to this controversial (age-of-consent) issue shortly and was wondering if it would generate interesting discussion and feedback – I guess that question has been answered! πŸ™‚

By the was, I am not sure about that age of consent site or how they sourced it, or if they are looking at ‘cut off’ age – but age of consent in Thailand is 16 years old… Also, to all those Americans out there: Remember that age of consent does not matter in the country that you travel if the US government finds out about it. Under FEDERAL law they will still hit you as a sex tourist and pedophile charges back at home… Even if you are from Missoura and can marry your sister at the age of 15, federal law does not apply to such things… πŸ™‚

  10. Ok, my bad on the “c____” thing. But since we are working in mere type here, I can only draw my conclusions from what people actually write.

What’s more, I hardly think not condoning people having sex with minors puts somebody on any ‘high horse’.

  11. This is entirely cultural. There are many peoples that don’t attach such a horribleness to it. In some cultures, a 14 year old boy is taught the ways of love by an adult aunt or cousin. It is considered normal. They would go “eeewww” at the thought of clueless teenagers fumbling around clumsily in the back seat of a car, being traumatized by their ineptitude. Other cultures, 7-12 year old boys administer oral sex to the teenagers. It’s looked upon as a healthy developmental stage.
“Nothing is good or bad, only thinking makes it so”. -Shakespeare, Hamlet

  12. True, some populations have teens having sex and marrying. But by ‘western’ standards, it’s not acceptable for grown-ups to be involved with underages.

LawBoy is almost never serious? Ok, then I won’t go making bets with him. πŸ™‚

  13. lets clarify…i dont like little kids :))

hey hero..sorry for the fuss..i can fully understand your strong opinion on such a nasty topic…it is something not to joke about…now ladyboys on the hand is another topic…knowing some of us here are more adventurous. like News and dazn:))

sex with children is just weird…just a curious question…at what age is more acceptable?….16 or more or what? hard to tell these days. how about a poll doc…on the acceptable age..

Bill you sure hit a sore spot with this post, but sure stimulate some great debates:)

  14. I have to agree with luvjgirls. From a purely scientific standpoint, it is theoretically possible for anbody to have sex once they reach sexual maturity, and many more primitive cultures reflect this. Making the age of consent later than the age of sexual maturity is a purely cultural thing, nothing more. There is nothing fundamentally ‘right’ (or wrong) about it. That doesn’t mean I advocate going against your own culture, but we should also respect other cultures with different ideas, without jumping to conclusions about absolute ‘rights and wrongs’.

  15. i guess one can use the “ewwww” test πŸ™‚
hard to judge other culture. for thailand, the consent age is 15. on the list from News, i saw in some countries, the consent age went down as far as 12. I remember when i was at that age around 13 or 14, girls and boys at that age in junior high were very much curious sexually with each other. you will be surprise just how much those innocent junior high girls are sexually active with their boyfriends.
in my work, i have seen many a guys who were around 19 or so having relationship with 17 years old and getting in deep shit…statutory rape. a year later and the two years age difference means nothing.
my gf now is 20 years my junior..she is 22…yet it is perfectly normal and legal for me to be with her. hard to judge base on a numerical value of age.

hard question to answer what is acceptable…for me less than 18 could be consider “ewwww” :))

  16. believe it or not….12 years is around 6 to 7 grade here in the states…and as best my memory serves me, i remember some very sexually liberal minded girls in my class….of course i was the same age as they were πŸ™‚ it is amzing that children that young are already experimenting.

  17. It’s one thing for middle school kids to be experimenting with each other sexual, what would appear quite natural. It’s another thing for grown men to be ‘experimenting’ with middle school girls or boys.

Lawyboy, we are in the same age category, and I’ve dated girls approaching 20 years my junior here in Shanghaiβ€”but for me, I draw my own line at university-aged women. Roughly 22 and younger. It’s a personal choice. I just don’t go there. That’s my ‘ewww’ point.

I’ve met some 24-year-old women who are pretty mature about what direction their life is going, who are certainly fun to hang out with, and who are, yes, very slim, attractive and often quite sexually savvy. But the transition between university life and life outside of that cocoon is a big one where a leap into maturity is often very pronounced. The same could be said for high school-slash-post-high school young people.

    I think there’s a world of difference between a guy 19 years old and a 17-year student.

I spent 12 years years in Seattle providing mental health counseling to school-based teenagers. More than not, the 19 year old BF in the 19/17 relationship had some real baggage and testosterone-fueled control issues, whereas just a year or two up for the girl, put them on a plane of more equal, healthy footing.

And as for the situations when some of the 15-18 year old girls I counseled described their relationships with 26, 27, 28 year old boyfriends, I though to myself, what the f*** is a 26-year old guy doing with 15 year old?

So, Lawboy, you, me, and scores of other men need to lay down where are line is in life, and just hope a bit of moral fortitude wins out.

  18. i guess that is about where i am at my cut off point also…above 18..which should put them at university age….the youngest i have dated was round 19..and she got a kid already…extremely beautiful….doc has pix:))

i agree with Hero….younger than that, even it it is legal kinda leave a bad taste in your mouth….never try highschool girls before even had they reached 18….

hey hero…i too did some work in mental health but with homeless schizophrenics…(sic)…:)

  19. Your right LawBoy… there should be no..none..never any pictures on this site of anyone under the legal age….

    there’s no need for it..

on the other end…. I think 80 should be top end…
