Glamourcon 15
(Los Angeles; February 6-7, 1999)
Sung Hi's first Glamourcon has come and gone on February 6-7 in LA. The 15th edition
of Glamourcon was held at Wyndham Hotel at LAX
(6225 West Century Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA).
What the h@ck is Glamourcon?
Glamourcon is an event which
has been held many times across the US. It is a celebration and marketplace of the glamour
arts. The event is celebrity driven and features 50+ Playboy Playmates from 5 decades as
well as many other past and present glamour and pin up models. Vendors sell autographs,
trading cards, catalogs, magazines, books, photos, original pin up art, videos and much
more. Some vendors will demonstrate their internet sites and they also host a camera
cheesecake photo shoot.
Who where at Glamourcon?
Beside Sung Hi, a lot of models were in LA. Just to mention a few names:
Alley Baggett,
Angela Little,
Echo Johnson,
Jennifer Lavoie,
Julia Schultz,
Karen Foster,
Lisa Marie Scott,
Patricia Ford,
Sharon Johanson,
Stacey Sanches,
Tiffany Taylor, and
Victoria Silvestadt.
Lisa Boyle was off shooting a movie so that is why she didn't show up.
What did Sung Hi say about Glamourcon?
Well, my first Gcon was really fun, I like meeting my fans in person. It makes things a lot
more friendly when I speak to them. On her website at sung-hi.com
she thanks all people for coming to see her.

Money, money, money...
Although most of the people enjoyed Glamourcon, a lot of people were complainung about the
prices to take pictures - it seems that Patricia Ford asked $20 just to take her picture :(
According to the PML the best pricers were Victoria Silvestadt, Echo Johnson, and Karen
Foster. Worst Pricers: Stacey Sanches, Sharon Johanson, Sung Hi Lee, and obviously Patricia
Ford.
The reason they ask a lot of money is probably due to the fact that they had to pay a fee
for the weekend in LA.
Bob (GLAMOURCON@aol.com) mentioned that playmates are charged $95 for the weekend in LA and
$75 elsewhere. Dealers are charged about $350. Bob: If we did not charge them, we would
have three options: only have dealers as in the early Glamourcons, raise ticket prices a
great deal, or get a corporate sponsor. It is a for profit corporation not supported by
anything except table fees and door fees. And no, Playboy will not be a corporate sponsor.
I'm wondering where the days are that it was for free to get a picture and an autograph
of your favorite star...
Just a comment from a fan
Unfortunately it was bad. The only bright spot in attending Glamourcon was meeting
Sung Hi. She is a very special lady, polite, professional and a pleasure to meet. I cannot
say enough good things about her. I cannot say enough bad things about Glamourcon.
The pictures!!!
For some reason there're only a few shots of Sung Hi at Glamourcon. If you still have some
photos and comments of Sung Hi Lee's appearance at Glamourcon, please let me know and be
sure that more than 7,500 daily visitors can enjoy it as well. If you appreciate it, I will
add your name and link if available. You can send the photos/comments to
ThaNirz. Thanks!
