Biography

Jun started her career in late 1996 as AV actress Mizuho Kanou (her real name is not known), debuting with the hard core video Pin Pin Girl in October of that year. After starring in five more such videos (the last being The Contrary Soap Heaven in May 1997), it appears she decided to retire from AV, seemingly with a view to a career as a photo model. In July, her publishing company at the time (Alice Japan) released a compilation video of some of her best sex scenes up to that point - Forever - as her swan song.

She then re-surfaced in August of 1997 as photographic model Narua Asami with the photo book Queen Bee. She also appeared in several magazine layouts under this name at around the same time, and into early 1998. During her absence it appears she had some orthodontic work done, as her teeth were a little crooked in her earlier videos (as with many Japanese AV actresses), but they now appeared quite straight.

This is how things stayed until March 1998, when she re-entered the AV market under her old name of Mizuho Kanou with Kyonyu Tensyou. Shortly afterward, she appears to have signed an exclusive photographic contract with Eichi Publishing, the largest and most famous of Japan's erotic publishing companies. As often seems to be the case with Japanese erotic models, this necessitated yet another name change - to Jun Kusanagi. (It seems as though the publishing houses, rather than the models themselves, own their names, so many Japanese erotic models change their names at some point in their career.)

In April she released her second photo book Kubire, the title of which being the Japanese word for "the inward dip of a woman's waist", a reference to her spectacularly tiny 20-inch waist. This was her first photo book under the Jun Kusanagi name, hence the subtitle of the book ("Jun Kusanagi First Photobook"!). The following month, she released her first personal (soft-core) video (G-Cup Kiken!), also through Eichi and as such under the Jun Kusanagi name. She followed these up with Kubire 2 and GTO respectively at the end of 1998.

She also appeared in three or four magazine layouts a month as Jun Kusanagi, while at the same time releasing one hard core video every month as Mizuho Kanou! She kept on going until the middle of 1999, at which point it seems she announced her official retirement. She released her last video (Muku) in July and photo book (Jun) in August. She also released a year 2000 calendar at around the same time.

While she did stop making videos, Jun has continued to appear in the Japanese magazines, albeit much less frequently than before (it appears as though many of these may actually have been taken from earlier photo shoots). She is also working as a dancer and apparently also as a mainstream actress in Japan, although at this stage we don't have any further details regarding this.

Just recently, she has re-launched her modelling career on the world market via the internet. She has started up her own official web site at June2525.com and has made an appearance at US web site Danni's HotBox. She has also done a photo shoot with top Playboy photographer Kim Mizuno for MZ Productions. This resulted in a brand new photo book, the aptly-titled Dangerous Curve.

During her careeer she has appeared in no less than 24 uniformly excellent hard core videos, one adult cinema video (Over the Night), three personal videos and five photo books (plus one various models photobook), as well as the calendar. She has also appeared in more than 10 various models compilation videos so far (many of them released since she 'retired'). Four years since she started her modeling career, Jun remains one of Japan's most prolific and popular photo model/AV stars. When you see her in action on film, or simply just look at one of her photos, it certainly isn't hard to see why!
